About a week ago, I was thinking it was too bad that my iPhone didn't have a video camera feature. Then I thought what if I had one of those little camcorders that have a flip out screen and record to sd cards. I did a little research using the inter-webs and found that I could get a DXG 569 V HD camera for $129.00 at Radio Shack.
Well, I bought one today, a few hours ago actually. Just like I did with the 5d Mark II back in December, I got some shots off the front of Hakeem's third floor studio an hour or so after walking out of the store.
Then Hakeem cut this little test edit. He did a minimal amount of grading to a few of the clips with Apple Color. I've got to say that the fades he put on the guy walking are timed to the music perfectly.
This camera and it's potential for personal journalism is so truly awesome. I am going to have to take some time to give it proper thought before I comment more. All I will say now is how excited I am to be living and working in the times that we do.
This thing is amazing! More to follow. -Jack
