This footage was shot last January on the first scouting trip for a film we're working on called "Covenant and Controversy."
The eastern gate of Jerusalem is one of the most significant places on earth to me. It sits between two of the most contentious plots of real estate in the cosmos: the Temple Mount on one side and East Jerusalem on the other. It's 'blocked' by an Arab graveyard. On the other side of the wall behind the gravestones is the Dome of the Rock and Al-Aqsa Mosque, the 'noble sanctuary.'
The prophets and apostles told us that on the Day when Jesus returns, His feet will stand upon the Mount of Olives (opposite) before walking down into the Kidron Valley and through this gate, making His ascent to the Throne of David.
I *love* this city, "the city of the Great King."
It was shot with a Canon 5D mark ii.
