video and surround sound installation ⓒ hervé perez 2004
edit from a 20 mins projection piece. sound is mixed down to stereo.
made from the original water recording - and kept in real time - the sound design relates to changes in the image,
and modulations in the flow of water.
rhythms and fluctuations of the stream as well as changes in the environment, light etc. unfold a narrative that one can read on the surface of water as in a book.
'moving lines' refers to the behaviour of wave forms, sound and light but also to principles in hydrology. this is the story of cresbrook stream, miller's dale, inscribed in the memory of water.
the original installation had a further room with another sound installation. one could access this inner cell by walking through the large projection screen.
