I composed this tune way back in the late seventies it is one of my favorites for the guitar. I was born in Calcutta from French/English/Indian parents I left India when I was only one year old. Yet it is very present with me as with my music, it was also one of the first things I started to play on the guitar. It was a surprise to my family, simply because in England in those days you couldn't hear any Indian music.
My Mum was always saying "Oh that reminds me so much of India" hence the title. I would like to give special thanks to this fine dancer in this clip,
Sudharma Vaidhyanathan, who is only about 15 years old at the time.
I also apologize if I offend purists in synchronizing my music to this fine dance.it seems to me to fit in perfectly, I am looking at it from the point of view of artistic-expression. Hope you enjoy. This VIDEO.
