A work in progress. More here: poniesandlight.co.uk/experiments/world.html
The atmosphere calculations are based on Sean O'Neill's classic, with some fragment-space tweaks, the Parallax shader for the clouds is stylists' own, as are the bump maps, rendered from NASA depth data (poniesandlight.co.uk/notes/creating_normal_maps_from_nasa_depth_data/).
Uses modern GLSL / OpenGL with the new programmable GL renderer in openFrameworks 0.8.
Runs @ 60 interactive fps in HD (1920x800) on a AMD Radeon HD 6750M GPU.
Made with openFrameworks.
