Jeannine Savard has published four volumes of poetry: Snow Water Cove (U. of Utah P 1998, re-published with Carnegie Mellon UP 2005), Trumpeter (Carnegie-Mellon UP 1993), and My Hand Upon Your Name (Red Hen Press 2005). Her most recent book, Accounted For, was published by Red Hen Press in 2011. She was awarded the Jerome J. Shestack Prize for poetry from The American Poetry Review, the Carnegie Mellon Poetry Prize, and has published poems in a number of journals such as The North American Review, Ploughshares, Hayden's Ferry Review, The American Poetry Review, Manoa, The Kenyon Review, The Southern Review, The Bennington Review, The Antioch Review, Quarterly West, and many more. She is an Associate Professor of English at ASU and teaches both graduate and undergraduate workshops in poetry.
The Desert Nights, Rising Stars Writers Conference brings writers of all levels together for four exhilarating days in sunny Arizona. Participants get the chance to hone their craft in the classroom with distinguished writers, sharing dialogue during classes, readings, and other events. By keeping the number of participants small, we are able to offer an experience that is both intimate and affordable, all while maintaining our commitment to be the premier writers conference in the West.
