Contortion can be seen in Cirque du Soleil or cabaret shows around the world, but for many Mongolians it’s more than just a performance. Norovsambuu Budbazar, a pioneer of modern Mongolian contortion, wants Unesco to recognize the practice as part of her country’s intangible cultural heritage.
