This is the video I produced for Mark Holland's Blue Thunder Racing NZ dragcar back in 1999 with the assistance of Kent Luttrell.
It was produced over 1 weekend of solid work by us 2 amateurs neither who had ever attempted anything like it before. It was produced on an old Celeron 400MHz machine with a Matrox Marvell G200 video card and the entry level Avid Cinema software.
It was while creating this work that "Sandpit Productions Ltd" came into being as Kent made the statement that I was just playing in my 'sandpit'.
The video includes the historic footage taken at Thunderpark, Hastings when Mark ran New Zealand's first 6 second and 200 mph passes for a doorslammer on New Zealand soil. It shows some very amateurish video of the long burnouts and blowups we experienced running the old Chrysler wedge.
Music on the track includes segments from Chris Rea's 'Daytona' (1989), Creed's 'One' (1997), and Loudmouth's 'Fly' (1999).
