I recently shot a short feature for the BBC about about a visually impaired gymnast. Hannah Westerman, who also has learning difficulties, is the nine-time British rhythmic gymnastic champion and says she was inspired to push herself even harder by the Olympics and Paralympics held in London in 2012.
It was a pleasure meeting Hannah, her mum, and her coach and I'm really happy with how the film turned out. Hannah really is a truly inspirational athlete.
The feature was shown on BBC sport and can still be viewed online here: bbc.co.uk/sport/0/get-inspired/23856935
I shot the film on my Canon 1DC which has just been approved by the European Broadcasting Union for high definition broadcast use being rated for inclusion in HD Tier 1. The EBU defines HD Tier 1 as: “Tier 1 cameras can be used without restriction on any high definition programme. They are usually shoulder mounted or system (studio) cameras with interchangeable lens mounts.”
