Graham Monro in his own words -
"I have always loved photography. It's all I've ever wanted to do. It started as a hobby when my dad - Jim gave me my first camera when I was eleven years old. I then joined the camera club at St. Ives High. After leaving school I travelled around Australia for a few years then came back to Sydney and assisted fashion and advertising photographers. I was an editorial photographer for the first 20 years of my career also working in advertising and design and for direct clients. I started using Canon in 1984 because Canon gives the very best support to professional photographers. As a young guy starting out they trusted me and lent me fantastic gear and big lenses. I thought I'd gone to heaven! I've been with Canon ever since then.” For the last ten years I have been working in the domestic field photographing portraits and weddings. I founded the business, ‘gm photographics’ and it is now one of the leading Portrait and Wedding studios in Australia. Our boutique studio is based in Sydney and we have 5 photography teams covering weddings all over the world. The portraits are privately commissioned and we love to seek out home studies as well as location shoots in our local area of Mosman. Recently I have been focused more on my personal work and exhibitions, which has led to a Fine Art section on the ‘gm photographics’ website. I am a Double Master of Photography with the AIPP and a Fellow of the NZIPP. In the last few years, I have been a finalist in Head On, Shoot the Chef and recognised internationally in MILK.
