Surveillance Series videos are recorded from streaming video feeds of public spaces. Reframing these images as part of a video series disassociate them from their original practical use as forms of surveillance. Still, however, the generality, distance, and lagging or glitching of images only allows limited voyeurism. The observations and questions raised, in turn, are redirected to the viewer who is a specific and comparable component of the larger macrocosm. The piece can be considered a meditation on behavioral patterns, technological interpretation, presence of mind, and viewpoint (in this case, the mountainhead). It is important to recognize the similarities between all people and in turn between all living things until ego is dissolved and any differences that remain are crystalized forms of uniqueness.
