It could be argued that Alternative Fashion Week sums up London in just a few days.
Mix together the variety of people, cultures, skills and creative attitudes that can only be found in a world capital and Alternative Fashion Week is the result.
The Alternative Fashion Week keyword is 'new'. New designers, new models, new ideas. Designers comes from all over the UK as well as Italy, Spain, Norway, Poland, Bulgaria, Uruguay & Sri Lanka to take part in this genuinely original event in Spitalfields, the very heart of the City of London.
Living in Wapping near the Thames, Spitalfields is just a short bus ride away so I decided to spend a few hours seeing what Alternative Fashion Week was all about.
I ended up spending two days shooting on my XF300. I shot B roll first (don't ask why...) and went back for A roll the next day when I could get a better place at the end of the runway.
Light temperature was all over the place as the glass roof let in a mixture of dull overcast light and bright sunshine mixed with the tungsten of the stage lights.
I am reasonably happy with the end result as I think the film shows the spirit of the event which is always my goal.
