Flow Visualization

Bubbles nucleate on trapped gas pockets in the surface of raisins submerged in carbonated water. The raisins become buoyant and rise to the surface. The bubbles then burst, and the raisins sink again. The carbonation was produced by baking soda and vinegar in water. By Boris LeMattre. This was created for a course on Flow Visualization at the University of Colorado, Boulder, Team Third Assignment, 2011. For more information, visit colorado.edu/MCEN/flowvis/
