UPDATE: As I watched the footage more, around 1:12 as I zoomed in, the windows in the upper left seem to go from wide angle distortion to bowed very quickly and are distorted... maybe there is something else going on, no software fix? I don't know, this lens might not be the cure all, if there is such a thing, but the other options it offers might outweigh this one... I hope.
After reading and seeing "pillow distortion" issues that people were having with this lens on the FS100 or 700, I found that those of us with the NEX VG10/20/30s were ok because of software in the cameras to handle this issue, so I decided to pull the trigger on the lens and see for myself.
I see some distortion but nothing that will make this lens a problem for my shooting. It is clean and the zoom to me is very nice. On the VG20 there is NO zoom rocker, so you have to use either the side button or the zoom ring, but that is just the way it is. I would be cool if Sony would update the firmware so that we can use the zoom button on the IR remotes we have that have the zoom feature on it, but I won't hold my breath.
