This is my first video to see the light of day on the web. It was a short flight on a bumpy day with some nice thermals here and there. Another pilot launched before me and went about 50 miles XC - on a PG! He was leaving as I arrived to set up. This flying site is in the Finger Lakes Region of central NYS and is very picturesque. It's known for it local wine making.
I top land after not much more than a half hour. The ridge faces NNW and the wind was westerly, which helped cause the thermals to be a bit broken up, choppy and bumpy - a bit challenging and a good work out. Once I got some altitude I elected to top land (in smoother air) than to land in the valley LZ which would have been more turbulent. Sorry, no music in this first effort. Also the video is long since I couldn't figure out what to cut from the flight. It was all exciting. But then I was there, you may feel different. lol
