Dear Vimeo Friends,
During a recent business trip to Philadelphia I had the opportunity to test the Sony RX100 pocket camera; it is the perfect travel companion let me tell you. This little wonder is packed with features that I am still trying to learn; I was particularly impressed with its performance at 60p and and the overall quality of the footage in most cases including low-light conditions; bear in mind that this is no 5d though.
I color-graded the film in three sections, the first one is mostly 'as-is' footage straight out of the camera; the second one is in monochrome with a light grain, and the third one is an attempt to get a film-look with kind of a warm feel; unfortunately these clips were shot under poor lighting conditions with 3200 ISO in most cases; however, the camera performed pretty well relatively speaking; the main goal was to get rid of the 'plastique' digital-camera look for lack of a better word.
With all that said it was difficult though to pull a story out of a random collection of clips taken during my limited free time; however, if nothing else please enjoy the ride, the added effects, and the fast pace and energy of this short film.
As always thank you for for stopping by and watching my films.
