Back in September 2012, I attended The Bangface Weekender down Newquay in Cornwall [UK]. I only heard of this festival after searching for an Aphex Twin gig in google and clicking on a link announcing the 21st anniversary of his label Rephlex.
Because this event was celebrating 21 years of Rephlex the line up was epic and attracted people from all over the world.
I had originally intended to take some photos for 'Don't Stay In' but after they didn't send me any spotter cards [for handing out] I fobbed them off. Regardless of this I still took my Canon down along with my GoPro & field recorder and I concluded that I should try and have a bit of fun and just see what happens. So I decided, [to fit in with my research/ethos] I should do a sort of gonzo style video diary documenting my epilepsy and emotions whilst in an environment not recommended for epileptics.
The aim: to understand epilepsy and explore the triggers. Raise public awareness.
A lot of people were quite afraid, but equally intrigued.
