this is the first version of variations on the series of paintings/objects for which dutch artist simon dirkse choose the title 'tastatur'. that is the german word for 'keyboard' and refers to the reallife piano keyboard that is a part of these paintings/objects. the video consists of segments taken from 'tastatur' and are rearranged without changing the original too much. the fragments are enlarged, turned and mirrored, just to name a few alterations. the title is taken from the first song franz schubert used in his 'winterreise' and reads in english something like 'from one to the other'. the music was recorded live at a performance of members of the städtische philharmonie sankt isengrim at this years' european heritage days in the hague, the netherlands.
