I shot this short demo of our Kinect-enabled, gestural control news browser app right after installing it at Columbia Journalism School this week. You can tell I'm running on little sleep and less bathing. Sorry to all!
This is an experiment, our first SenseCast (sensecast.com) display "in the wild," so we kept it to a stripped down, simple RSS app with very few gestures enabled. We're using the OpenNI libraries wrapped for C++ and openFrameworks, as well as QRencode. Of course, there's lots more yet to do with this. Your thoughts? Thanks for watching!
(Oh yeah, like everyone else, we're trying to get some support to develop this thing. Here is a very long and probably broken link to our second-round Knight News Challenge application: generalprop.newschallenge.org/SNC/ViewItem.aspx?pguid=900d111c-1475-4d78-8fab-789663818724&itemguid=58393356-3996-4d10-b010-5fcc58285f9c )
