"The influence of tangible objects shapes in basic and
canonical tabletop interaction gestures."
A study for assessing the impact of tangible objects shapes and visual feedback on user's performance.
This project seeks to explore the influence of the shape of tangible objects (circular, knob, rectangle, star and polygon), in combination with two different menu
visualization techniques (pie and half pie), on user's performance; that takes place in the context of Tangible User Interfaces (TUIs).
Hence, we have designed an interface that affords these parameters. Moreover, we conducted a task – oriented experiment where users had to transact with the system (navigating through the menu and selecting elements), utilizing the tangible objects through different basic gestures (translating, rotating, placing an object and lift up).
