The seat of the President of Mexico takes up one side of the Zocalo, the large central square of Mexico City. What is particularly striking is that people are allowed in and wander around in parts of the beautiful building and its gardens. There are guards, but it doesn't feel like a militarized zone. There are murals by Diego Rivera in several places. This video features the Galery of the National Palace, not only the site of impressive art works from different periods of the country's history, but also a great art space.
