This was a personal project / series of tests I did to get my head around the Camera Calibrator in C4D R14.
In what would have probably ended up another unused and unfinished project, I was motivated to render and finish it up in the space of a week, after having not touched it for months.
This was because I was invited to submit work to the awesome "Project:Roam" - a series of mobile projections that were done hand-held, as part of the Gertrude Street Projection Festival 2013 (in Fitzroy, Melbourne).
See some of my photos below for how it looked on the walls at night.
I thought the idea of projecting daytime laneways onto the walls of nighttime laneways was quite fitting.
5D Mk3 + 24-105mm, 5-bracket HDRs shots
Processing in Photomatix Pro + Lightroom 4
HDR sky for reflection maps - Nexus 4 phone + 360degree Google photosphere shots
Cinema 4D R14
After Effects (plus Reelsmart Motion Blur, Optical flares and lots of custom adjustment layers)
The GSG tuts on the Camera Calibrator were great for picking up the basics of how to use it.
