Sa Foradada (Mallorca, 19.02.2017)
"Sa Foradada is a peninsula located in the municipality of Deià (Mallorca), and its name comes from the impressive hole that runs through it, which is about 18 m in diameter, visible from different parts of the coast. The best place to observe it from is the Son Marroig viewing platform, especially at sunset – an intense, romantic image.
According to one anecdote, when the Archduke Ludwig Salvator purchased the Son Marroig estate, which included the peninsula of Sa Foradada, someone told him he had paid an extortionate price for it. But he replied that what he had been charged was not even enough to pay for the hole in Sa Foradada. The nobleman had the path that connects the two enclaves built, along with a small pier for mooring his magnificent sailing boat, the Nixe."
