Shot over thirteen days, these vignettes show the activity around a hummingbird nest in an urban setting. I was inspired by Wallace Stevens' famous poem "Thirteen Ways of Looking at a Blackbird," and I tried to present a different mood or perspective with each segment. Some of this footage will be used for Wild Tucson: Encounters with Urban Wildlife, a feature documentary about the intersection of people and animals in Tucson, Arizona.
Everything was shot with the Canon 7d and Canon macro (50mm), tele (70-200mm), and wide angle (17-40) lenses.
