Young Woolly Monkeys was filmed on Sumak Allpa an Island in the River Napo downriver from Coca in Ecuador. The island is a primate reserve and rehabilitates several species of monkey with the hope of repopulating areas with declining primate numbers in the future. The Sumak Allpa foundation also works with indigenous people educating them in environmental and cultural matters. More information about Sumak Allpa can be found at
The video features two young woolly monkeys who were rescued from a market where they were being sold as pets.
