When you're in Windorah at the end of the day you always have a hard decision to make. Do you go out to Cooper's Creek and watch the pelicans land against a lilac sky or do you drive the 15 kilometres out to the big sand hills outside town?
During my visits to Windorah I think I've settled on my favourite sundown activity. The dunes win.
They are beautifully striking in the day but there's a magic to them once the sun goes down.
We spent some time up there this evening, swatting the flies, sitting on the warm sand, watching the day slip away.
