Is Brooklyn in the house? Without a doubt! Bed-Stuy emcee, Mid-Nite, has released another phenomenal visual from his highly anticipated "12amTheMixtape" project. Though he has yet to reveal a release date for the project everyone is patiently waiting for what is sure to be an innovative yet traditional body of work reflecting his Bucktown-upbringing.
In this particular song, "We On," Mid-Nite sounds like he's had enough of the mainstream rap and it's accompanying wardrobe. Instead of following current trends he's taking it back to the essence of street rap with couplets like, "I'm from Brooklyn homie grew up on some different shit/ Grown men wearing skirts I don't get this shit..."
Whoa! Sounds like the gangster turned rapper is bringing back that real Brooklyn Hip-Hop feel and aesthetic. The video was shot by ManuallFocus and features a cameo from celebrity chef, The Hood Chef. This is definitely something that will instill New York pride for listeners in the streets of the Big Apple as well as give those outside NYC a glimpse of what real Gothamites are about.
Get on it!
