Technical shooting details: This was shot on a Sony a57. Fstop varied from 2.8 to 3.5, using a Sony Alpha 16-50mm 2.8, a Minolta 50mm 1.7, and a Minolta macro 100mm 2.8. ISO kept at a maximum of 400. All lights in the basement and other locations were changed, so that we could keep it at a low ISO. For instance, the basement overhead was changed to a 300 watt overhead, and we had one softbox to get rid of harsh shadows. Additional lights were used as needed. It was a quick, ultra low-budget shoot, 4 days max, at three locations. We recorded audio directly into the camera using the new Azden FMX with AGC disabler and XLR input.

Post production details: We added heavy grain in post using ISO 800 and ISO 1600 grain we bought from Videohive. We usually do color correction in Apple Color, but for a quick turnaround, we used Magic Bullet. We used three different presets as a baseline, and modified each heavily as needed. To get rid of the harsh Sony highlight roll offs, we used EOSHD's advice for modifying the black and white levels before adding any Magic Bullet. We also used Soundtrack Pro to get rid of any audio hiss that the Azden added. In the final print, we'll have to edit the levels a little bit more because some of the dialogue is a little tinny at points. But the hiss was very easy to get rid of.
