The exhibit “Trapped in the Pond” intends to show a widely unknown biological diversity inhabiting temporary ponds: THE CRUSTACEANS. When we think of crustaceans, we think of shrimps, lobsters, crabs and crayfish.
Yet not all crustaceans live in the sea!
Crustaceans inhabit temporary ponds, even when the pond dries. These crustaceans, that are TRAPPED IN THE POND, resort to special survival strategies that enable them to develop their entire life-cycle in the pond.
