Sydney Animation

Created by Jack McGrath and Mark Eliott, this stop motion animation has been created by manipulating and then photographing flame worked glass one frame at a time.

Molten glass fuses with stop motion animation in this underwater fantasy set in Bondi, Australia.
Nerida, a marine biologist who can talk to fish, learns of the trials and tribulations of life for the modern sea creature. When she discovers a World War 2 relic on the ocean floor, she embarks on a unique project to help her fish friends.
This short film with a whimsical yet serious narrative, features an experimental approach using stop motion techniques to capture the fluid movement of glass which is hand blown and sculpted in the flame.
