This is a lamp prototype built during my MAD Museum Open Studios residency. It's battery operated and features LED strips embedded within.
It is part of an exploration of how we can use the entire object as a point of interaction.
Here the lamp itself is the switch. Tilt it upright in its tall position and it turns on. Tilt it down, and it turns off.
The form features a rounded front surface to fit the hand as it's being grabbed, and a curved bottom corner so that it pivots easily on any flat surface.
Right now I use it on a bookshelf in the living room.
