                          TRIP: Textiles Research in Process

                          As part of the TRIP symposium at Loughborough University in November 2011, the public is invited to submit short films that explore hand making as well as the relationship of such methods to technology in the textile production process.

                          The videos will explore a diverse range of processes addressing areas such as:
                          • The methods used to make textile artifacts
                          • Where, how and from whom you learned your hand or machine making skills
                          • Personal reasons for engaging in textile practices that involve hand making
                          • The value and status of the craft processes used
                          • The role and relevance of

                          • The role and relevance of traditional ‘hand skills’ in contemporary textiles

                          PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOUR VIDEO CONFORMS TO THE FORMAT OUTLINED BELOW

                          Videos should be between 30 seconds and 240 seconds long.

                          Each video submitted should begin with a black screen with text credits in white that include your name, the title of the video, your location (town & country) and the date the film was made. This title screen should last no more than 5 seconds.

                          Videos may have further acknowledgements at the end that last no longer than 5 seconds.

                          Each film must end with a 1 second fully black screen
