I'm working toward a treatment of the footage I have of the night section of this event. We were marshalling at one of the roundabouts on the night circuit. The stationary rider in this section is Marina Bloom. Fourth fastest lady ever over 24 hours with 447 miles in 2007. She is seen here deciding not to continue at 237.15 miles after 12 hours, she was riding 89 inch fixed at age 41, a true 'fixie chick' heroine, any coincidence in the lyrics and the action is not meant to relate to the action but to the bond between helpers and riders. The role of the helper is to feed the rider and to motivate them, the 24 is special. If you have a big team, helpers are rested. With one supporter both the rider and the supporter are likely to be hyped up on caffeine and be irritable. I like the extended immobility in an event which is about continuous mobility, that and the flashing light matching the music.
