Left rough around the edges - somewhat intentionally - and filmed in an unusual way with a DIY portable green screen rig, in downtown Vancouver. Budget was $50, $34 of which went on beers. It was a lot of fun to make and hopefully I'll put together a "making of" video and have it up here one day soon. Will probably cause a few epileptic fits. Enjoy
Featuring Godofredo Medina
and briefly Fernanda Gutierrez
Extra Info: Our actor and Mexican friend, Godo, carried the rig himself and so was in control of both cameras at all times. The main camera is pointing towards Godo's face with a green screen behind him. The 2nd camera on the back of the rig is pointing backwards filming with a fisheye lens. The idea was to key the green out and so have Godo's face in normal perspective, with the background distorted by fisheye. This could have been done a lot better using the green screen we have in the studio but I hoped this way would make the lighting look natural and filming a lot quicker. In the end it didn't work out quite as planned but it was a fun and quick shoot. Getting on the bus with this massive contraption was interesting and filming was cut short as we found ourselves in the wrong side of town after dark with 2 expensive looking cameras asking to get jacked. The editing process was quick and messy, with a plethora of effects, mainly out of curiosity to try new things out and see what happens.
