I have been struggling trying to tell better stories. Using Michael Rosenbaum's 5 shot edit method I made an edit decision lists based on the rules/guidelines

A close-up shot of the hands
A close-up shot of the face
A wide shot
An over the shoulder shot
A unusual or alternative view of the subject.

I first made a paper decision list then was able to quickly assemble an edit copy. It did help me to organized these viable shots quickly and I was able to do a rough cut of the video. It is not what I want it to be. It is a lot closer to that video than a bunch of clips siting on my hard drive. It can be used as a means to get out of your own way and get a story out.
