Lens Whacking

Late yesterday afternoon, as it was getting close to his bedtime, my wife and I decided to take our son out for a short walk as it was a lovely warm, sunny evening. Just as we were leaving the house I decided to quickly grab my new Canon 5D-MkIII to give the 720/50p video a test run. I'd also bought a FilmConvert license earlier in the day so wanted something to test that out with. This video is the result. We were only out for around half an hour (we just headed along to our local park and back) but I managed to get some nice footage I was happy with.

All footage was lens whacked with my Nikon E Series 50mm f/1.8 lens detached from the body. The footage was transcoded to Apple ProRes 422 using MPEG Streamclip, then conformed from 50fps to 25fps and edited in Adobe Premiere Pro (with titles created in After Effects). Grading was also done in Premiere Pro using FilmConvert using a tweaked version of the Fuji Velvia 100 preset.
