Medellin, Columbia. In the nine days leading up to Christmas (novena), there are public prayers, with dance and music and food for the children. This celebration happened in the Parque Bolivia, one of many great public spaces in the city. Probably not part of the official program, the biggest start of the celebration was an imaginatively dressed and accessorized dancer with a poodle and a mini-rooster on his hat. The unbounderd joy the dancer displayed in a crowd of people some of whom were not quite sure what to make of the performance, but ultimately showing their acceptance, sympathy and even love for our "private dancer."
