Hanna Maria Heidrich brings unconventional imagery to life. She plays with emotion. Her intense focus on human nature is underscored by her tightly-structured narratives in her constant search for that magical film moment. Spellbound by the power of pictures from an early age, she explored drawing, painting and photography, but soon discovered her love for filmmaking.
She graduated from the renowned Filmakademie Baden-Wuerttemberg and did a one-year-course at Central Saint Martins College in London. She also received a scholarhship for an intensive training program at UCLA in Los Angeles.
Hanna Maria has already received more than 40 international awards for her commercials and short films. Her work was featured at the prestigious “Saatchi & Saatchi New Directors’ Showcase” and “Young Director Award” in Cannes, the “Art Directors Club” in New York and Berlin and Shots Magazine in London. Often touching on the surreal, her grasp of narrative, coupled with a genuine affinity with actors, has led to films of cinematic style and an individual handwriting.
Hanna Maria lives in Berlin. She shoots commercials and is currently working on her first feature film script, a sci-fi-thriller. Apart from film she is interested in alternative social structures, detoxifying yoga, the magic of science, electro beats, feminism, sci-fi utopias, photography, environmental change and the best recipe for pancakes.
