Since the Houston Museum of Natural Science started in 1909, it's been our mission make science, and all its fascinating facets, universally, easily, abundantly accessible to everyone who wonders about our world.
On site, you'll find many fascinating permanent exhibitions (from the most beuatiful and rare minerals in the world to exhibits on Amazonian culture); a place to explore the cosmos in our Planetarium, giant screen adventure in our IMAX theater, and a vibrant, walk through rain forest and butterfly habitat. Plus, special, traveling exhibitions cover even more varied, extraordinary topics - from poison dart frogs to Bejamin Franklin and everything in between.
