Our loved ones remain in our ears and hearts in their absence... the sound of a voice, the rhythms of young footsteps on stairs.

The Music and video were recorded at the same time, live in one take - excepting some minor B roll video - on a Canon D7 and a few iPhones in very low light. On the video side none of us knew what we were doing, but we had a blast putting on the lights and performing it.
The video post work - editing, compositing and coloring, motion was done on Final Cut and Motion. It turns out this part of the process was maybe not so much of a blast more like the Dr. who had to perform an appendectomy in him self in the Antarctic). It turns out this part should be left to the professionals -ahem - and I now have even more respect and compassion for video editors.
Honey Ear Trio has a unique take on the jazz saxophone trio, drawing from many genres and combining acoustic instruments with subtle electronics. As sidemen they've performed with artists ranging form Dr. Lonnie Smith, David Amram and Branford Marsalis to Pete Seeger, James Hunter and Ani Difranco. As a trio they are creative, explosive and "there’s always an infectious energy, melodic joy, and sense of fun” [The Chicago Reader]. Honey Ear Trio is based in Brooklyn, NY.
