“DIY punk rock roots X commercially-trained visual executioner,” is how Ian summarized himself.
He directs and produces video and still photography campaigns with an emphasis on people and products, while capturing the essence of each brand story in the most effective way. He has been doing so in one way or another since he was a kid and the family documentarian for trips to Europe, South America and beyond. From graphic designer during the mid-80s San Diego Surf/Skate/Music scene to professionally trained Brooks Institute studio photographer/cinematographer, Ian has come up organically. He was an early adopter of the film/ digital migration and a part of the video game 3D mocap and scanning technology leap from 2000 to 2008. Since then he has been heavily involved in the consumer medical and sports space
enjoying the challenges and opportunities that this radically changing area has to offer.
“I have been fortunate to have been at the peak of what is happening and surrounded by the leaders of each wave, sharing and connecting ideas and stories with other like minded souls,” he says. “I still skate halfpipes, bomb hills, and surf without a leash. My life is all about my kids, family, art, friends, and making your brand story sexy.”
