Ivan Cordoba is an award-winning visual artist and filmmaker based in New York City. Some of his works have been screened at art centers and international festivals such as the Venice Biennale, and also featured in art books and specialized media such as Adweek. He’s worked for top global brands including Mercedes-Benz, Converse, Ports 1961 and L’Oréal Paris, and collaborated with such artists as world-class photographer Christopher Makos.
His work as a filmmaker is conformed by a considerable trajectory shooting and cutting ‘vérité-style’ commercials and documentary material from many different conditions and environments around the world in places such as Burundi (Africa), Macau (China), Dominican Republic, Spain and the USA. He’s worked in a corporate environment creating video projects for brands and companies, combining them with artsy films. Not wanting to get pigeonholed into one genre, he easily navigates diverse terrains by trusting his craft and instinct, bringing the heart of the work to light.
Ivan came to filmmaking with a multifaceted creative background and an eagerness to tell a story.
