James Branscome is a Los Angeles, CA based filmmaker originally from the Baltimore, MD area.
Since moving west, James co-created, co-wrote, and directed two seasons of the paranormal comedy web series, PUMPKIN MORGUE PARANORMAL INVESTIGATORS with his wife Morgan Rae. While running the show he also directed music videos for KENT STATE, THE NOUVEAUX RICHES, and SHIVERING WINDOW along with contributing a 1980s style anti-drug PSA for the found footage film WNUF HALLOWEEN SPECIAL.
Currently James in pre-production of his debut feature film, MURDER BALLADS. Co-written by James, James DeHaven, and Jeffery X. Martin, MURDER BALLADS is a thriller about a college student piecing together the puzzle of a killer who is murdering their victims based on traditional folk songs. A passion project that he has been putting together for the last several years, James is excited to be finally bringing the film to life.
In-between projects, James works as a freelance film editor and has contributed to such projects as Amy Oden's acclaimed documentary, FROM THE BACK OF THE ROOM, animatronic artist Brian Poor's THE ESCAPE, along with several short films and DVD featurettes.
Besides filmmaking, James' other passions include the banjo, collage art, pumpkin spice coffee, his two cats Sadie & Dulli, and his lovely wife Morgan Rae.
