Philip grew up in Rome, Italy in a family of Middle European origins.
During the 80s he first got involved with the emerging music-video format

After relocating to San Francisco in 1994 to pursue Film Studies,

Working as a freelance cameraman and editor ever since, he gained experience on short and feature length independent films, documentaries, music and event videos, commercials, corporate and instructional videos while collaborating with several cutting edge production companies and award winning filmmakers.
Documentaries soon became his focus as he filmed some of his travels around the World, and became involved with lafco, the Los Angeles Filmmakers Co-op, an inspiring collective of anti-mainstream, multi-talented artists working with cinematic means of expression.
In 2004, his documentary "Burning Man-The Floating World" won "Best Documentary" at the DIGIT Festival in NY.
