Jeronimus van Pelt born in 1970 in Heerlen (the Netherlands), lives in The Hague (the Netherlands).
After attending the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam, van Pelt moved to The Hague. He explored various art forms before settling as a conceptual photographer in 2005. Over the last years he’s especialy developed his photography in the area of staging, visual idiom and refined lighting. His distinctive hyper realistic style has been commissioned by various design agencies, fashion designers, artists, ministries and companies.
Van Pelt has a distinct love for decor. “I’d love to live in a decor”. For his portraits, he places his subjects into a scenery and creates impressions like a snow globe that trigger the imagination without defining a story. The result is dreamy and hyperrealistic at the same time. In this way, he invites the viewers to explore their own expectations and longing.
“Within the realm of the imagination only reality is more remarkable”.u»′Natural Habitat Adventures′
Van Pelts own concepts currently dwell on the deeper human longing for bodily expression in postindustrial environments.
