Originally from Denver, Colorado, Jonas Mayabb migrated to Los Angeles in 1997. Before graduating as valedictorian with a BFA in Film from Art Center College of Design, he gained employment as an actor and then later furthered his education by working in commercial production as well as in the art department on such feature films as THE HULK, THE CHRONICLES OF RIDDICK, A SERIES OF UNFORTUNATE EVENTS, and SUPERMAN.
This well rounded experience has resulted in Jonas earning two Clio awards, a National Gold Addy, the Gold and Silver Young Director Awards at Cannes and an Emmy in just two years. He won both Non-European Film School and CFP-E/Shots in 2007. Add to this three Telly’s, the ADC (Art Directors Club) award and won Best of Category for I.D. Mayabbs work on Global Warming entitled “Blowing Smoke" was shown at the United Nations and is still shown at the Lincoln Center.
The key to his success? Collaboration with the most passionate and imaginative people in the industry. Those addicted to their craft.
