After working as a national reporter in Washington, D.C., for five years I made the jump to higher education communications at UMBC. Using new media journalism skills, I helped introduce social networking strategies to the university’s communications, alumni relations and development teams. This included becoming an expert at video production, web development and keeping up-to-speed on the latest social media platforms.
