Kojo Boateng is currently Design Director at ITN, the UK’s leading provider of independent broadcast news. He leads an award winning team in creating environments for ITN’s ground-breaking virtual reality system and oversees the design for all ITV News programming for the UK’s biggest commercial broadcaster.
Kojo has created the branding for ITV News’ iconic flagship News at Ten bulletin, which re-launched in 2008, and worked with Bruce Dunlop Associates on the rebrand of ITV News which won two Gold Awards at Promax/BDA.
He has overseen a wide range of big projects including designs for the last General Election across all ITV News’ output, creating the look for ITV’s coverage of the Royal Wedding as well as designing the on air look for major news events such as the recent Japanese tsunami and earthquake, the last US Presidential Elections as well as the 2008 Olympic Games.
Kojo started his career as a print and multi-media designer working for a variety of high profile clients including Universal Music, Marie Claire and Sony Playstation.
He joined the fast-paced design studio at ITN in 1998, creating distinctive news graphics for Five News before moving across to work on both ITV News and Channel 4 News programmes.
As a design consultant at ITN he also helped launch ‘Headlines Today’, India’s first English speaking rolling news channel.
