A Masters by Research in Film and TV graduate from the Victorian College of the Arts, University of Melbourne, Elka has made three award winning short animation films including THE CONFESSION OF FATHER JOHN THOMAS, LASH and FILLED WITH WATER, screening at over hundred international film festivals. Before focusing on her filmmaking career, Elka worked for many years as a video artist for theatre and dance productions in Darwin, including The Darwin Theatre Company, The Darwin Festival Tracks Dance Company and Business Unusual. During this time she also wrote and directed experimental multimedia theatre works including, RUST, WHAT’S THAT DONKEY FOR?, SITE 3, THE TUBE and BLOOD vs WINE. Elka loves pushing the genre boundaries with her thought provoking creative works. From drama to humour stimulating peoples emotions, drawing people in the visually poetic landscapes coupled with philosophical storytelling, her films create a buzz at film festivals all over the world.
