Kevin Cook is an documentary photographer, photojournalist and multimedia producer passionate about visual storytelling. He is currently a photojournalism graduate student at the University of Missouri.
He has shot for more than 20 local and national publications and is available for assignments wherever their is a story to be told. Cook owns a full line of Canon photo and video (HD) equipment, a MacBook Pro with photo and video software and has experience in a variety of photographic situations.
Cook has won recognition from the Society of Professional Journalists, NPPA, Pennsylvania Newspaper Association, ASMP, Photographer’s Forum Magazine, Temple University, Digital Photo Pro, Philadelphia Press Association and the Philadelphia Daily News.
He enjoys working on longer term documentary projects and multimedia pieces.
Cook has his BA in Photojournalism and a BA in Film and Media Arts from Temple University. While in school he interned at the Philadelphia Inquirer, Reading Eagle, Metro Philadelphia and Philadelphia Film Office. He is a member of the NPPA and ASMP and served as Photo Editor of The Temple News for a year.
He has traveled to and shot stories in Uganda (2010), Egypt (2012) and Kenya (2012).
Kevin Cook believes visual storytelling is an extremely powerful tool that can be used to elicit change, provoke discussion and create meaningful dialogue.
